There are no atheists... Everyone has a god.
And a religion, too -- the focus of worship.
Yes, it’s true: there is no godlessness, no true atheism... Everyone has a god and/or gods, and in the case of those who reject the Real Deal - the Creator of the Universe - what rises, yeast-like, to replace Him is Self - an empty vicar - to fill the void. Yes, without an external God, and absent belief in a Higher Power, people - atheists, even agnostics - anoint themselves, looking within, not without, for a sovereign.
And, yes, it IS true that the rejection of God, His banishment - by media, entertainment, and education - from society, fosters sacramental (religious) devotion. This sect - call it Meism - is the apotheosization of flesh, one’s person as temple, its desires to please. Idols - the idol of Fear, of Indulgence (Self) - prevail, with subservience to them religiously ordered.
What Satan put into the heads of our remote ancestors was the idea that they could “be like gods” — could set up on their own as if they had created themselves — be their own masters, invent some sort of happiness for themselves outside God, apart from God. And out of that hopeless attempt has come nearly all that we call human history — money, poverty, ambition, war, prostitution, classes, empires, slavery — the long terrible story of man trying to find something other than God which will make him happy.
That’s C.S. Lewis, a wise man, who in life went from Self-worship to Christ service. Lewis, were he here, would be impressed, though sickened, I sense, by his accuracy. Wrong Worship, now ubiquitous, spreads, subverting piety and humbleness before God. Narcissistic evil is normalized at all ages.
Take, for example, trans contagion, the idea that one can choose one’s sex.
Coincidence?
No... As faith fades from society, as we demean and degrade it, Crazyville - i.e., insanity - takes over. True religion, born of centuries of wisdom, teaches “right from wrong,” indelible tenets, immune to time, ambition, and folly.
~ Romans 1:22… Claiming to be wise, they became fools.
~ Romans 8:5… For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
~ Judges 17:6… In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.
~ Proverbs 26:12… Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
~ Proverbs 3:7… Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
~ Proverbs 14:12… There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.
The source of all wisdom, the Bible, spells it out. The transgender movement epitomizes EVIL, the brand referred to, and its pastor, Satan, preaches rejection - of Creationism, of “intelligent design” - in favor of, literally, creating oneself.
But Edmund Burke, who centuries ago said: “Men will never be gods. All their will and virtue is required if they are to attain mere humanity”... He was right.
Delusion is not virtuous. Narcissism is not moral. And this wide heresy - this insanity - is built on sand… It will not stand.
Because God, the real one, the Almighty, is watching. He’s in control. And, last I checked, He had a pretty fair record of separating chaff - which will burn - from the wheat. Meists epitomize woebegone chaff… They’re dust in the wind.
While God’s truth is rock, impervious and forever. The God who made us in His own image, not to be our own gods, not to serve our selves, but to serve each other with love and grace.
And don’t forget — He made the first selfie!
Face of God… For all of humanity, the Great I Am, the Son of Man, in the mirror.
