Aaaah, finally… After hearing about it, dreaming about it, and watching every sane West Coaster I know cut-and-run for the sun (natural and political), I’m going to do it.
VISIT DeSANTIS LAND… The bona fide MAGIC kingdom!
Yep: Suncoast, I’m THERE... Sarasota (my friends live in Lakewood Ranch), the keys - Longboat, Lido, SIESTA - and wherever palm and pelican preside I shall habit/haunt for 8 days, none of which will meet typeset or blog, political rant or peroration.
LOL… I love words. And, that said, I’ll keep mine: no post (promise) ‘til I get back. Just hanging with friends, mad exploring, and 80-degree air, white sand, and perfecto palms… WOW, last time I saw a palm tree coincided with the last time I fell in love (coincidence?) and, boy, we relished “Happy Days” every Tuesday night.
Hmm… Maybe I should leave (the house) more often. But, oysch, I’d better pack… This time tomorrow I’ll be in that Modern Hell Zone manifesting, today, as Domestic Travel (I fly through CHICAGO from Nashville… NOT… kidding), but, like so many trials - Jonah in the whale, a Karine Jean-Pierre press-conference - when it mercifully ends, the flowers and trees, the songs and the bees—everything that is not THAT improves.
And so I depart, if temporarily, to reward. Malaria pills—check… Speedo/loin cloth—check… Machete—check… I’m locked-and-loaded. The Margaritas will mount!
But “wasting away”?
No, I’ll not wait for Margaritaville, DeSantisville, or any ville... I’m flying from NASHville, Tennessee to CHICAGO to land in FLORIDA…
You’re invited to the airport bar... Six drink limit. Shoes and shirt—NO service. 🤪
It’s 5 o’clock somewhere, right? … You bet it is. And the sun, it’s setting…
And the drinks are on me! 🍹🦜🍹
