Trump persevered and, against all odds, prevailed…
A story of courage and historical triumph.
The more I think about it, the more amazing it is, the more implausible and divine. First, in 2016, they used fake evidence - the “Steele dossier” - to launch a smear campaign - “Russian collusion” - branding Trump a traitor aligned with Putin. The source, the Clinton campaign (Hillary drew it up), didn’t matter, Democrats, the Deep State, and RINOs (Ryan, Romney, etc.), embraced it, it filled the news, and, combined with voter fraud (Covid-era changes decreased the number of legit votes Dems needed), it made Joe Biden Commander-in-Chief.
But that, friends, was preliminary, a warm-up act—for following Impeachment One (based on Trump asking Ukraine to investigate Biden, who, on behalf of Hunter, had threatened Kiev prosecutors), the Pelosi-led House impeached him a second time (“incitement of insurrection”), launching Round 2, the “Jan 6th Committee,” which, led by liars, criminally doubled down. ‘Twasn’t enough to send him packing—Trump’s “return,” the potentiality, required “lawfare.” So, after derailing his first term, smearing him throughout it, they spent the next four years harassing Trump, the private citizen.
Sham charges. Sham lawsuits. Sham “investigations,” the goal to politically neuter Trump, never ended… They raided his home. They went after his businesses. They tried to bankrupt him.
And what did Trump do? Well, he had no choice, he had to respond, but it’s one thing to hire lawyers, to cut them checks, and another to doggedly persist when they TRY TO KILL YOU.
Yes, in Butler, the calculus changed. In the moment, literally shot, Trump faced the world, confronted the RIFLE (he had no idea whether he was still in danger), and, as blood streaked his face, shouted “FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!”
And if you doubted after that, well, you refused to see. He was willing to perish to complete the mission. It was bigger than him. And not even bullets would divert his path. Calling him fascist… dragging him through the mud… defaming his character… detonated in their face. Then (literally) they attempted to blow-off his.
And by “they” I mean exactly who comes to mind. I don’t know whether the shooter had help. No one knows whether the Secret Service, under the direction of Alejandro Mayorkas, conspired - a la John F. Kennedy - to kill Trump.
But it’s difficult to think otherwise. They, the Secret Service, denied Trump security. They didn’t coordinate with local law enforcement. They allowed the shooter to drone-map the sight, mark the distance, access a roof (unguarded), and, as people shouted, “Sh*t, DO something,” to pull the trigger.
Yes, difficult.
But what isn’t, and what’s now clear, is that Trump, indeed, was willing to die. He, after taking a bullet, was MORE determined. A second attempt (from the golf links) was foiled. Iran schemed to kill him. Each time he spoke, each public outing, he knew, unequivocally, he was risking his life.
So say what you will about flaws, his style, Trump loves America, and, while facing death, proved it. He risked - risks still - his life to return. But neither bullets, bias, nor bombast derailed him. Neither weaponized law nor actual weapons.
And because they didn’t, America is a better place. Nothing is promised, little is certain, but hope - authentic and real - has revived. Tomorrow is brighter. The future is lighter.
And for that we can thank President Donald J. Trump.
