It hurts, I know, really HURTS, what we’re seeing… Watching a demented criminal lay waste to the Bill of Rights, and do so without a care, is upsetting, and we can’t dismiss our emotions. People are hurting - enraged and scared - but remember, disciples: America isn’t God, America is a thing (just a thing “of this world”) and though founded in Light, it must pass away.
What won’t pass away is, of course, Jesus Christ. And though upset we are, this should guide us, for as the nation reels, and as evil convulses, we know the end… We are saved. We are whole. And that is forever.
That is a promise that will be kept.
Psalm 23: The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me, Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runeth over… Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
