“There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs—partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.”
~ Booker T. Washington

What is Juneteenth, you ask? This federal holiday that in 2021 popped, of a sudden, onto calendars nationwide? What, after slogging through the political BS, is the deal—the REALITY behind the curtain?
Well, Mr. Washington, who was born1856, nailed it… Juneteenth commemorates the day the Emancipation Proclamation, which declared the end of slavery, was enforced, officially, in the Texas state. In young America news traveled slowly… VERY slowly… so, at last, they, the HEATHENS, came aboard, knowing not, the poor fellas, that 150 years hence it would be made an arrow in racist quivers.
Yes, 150 trips around the sun… 156 to be precise… And the question is: Why? … If it’s “crucial to understanding,” shouldn’t it have been nationalized long ago? Why, in this racist era (thanks, Barack Obama) is a day which I’d NEVER HEARD OF, which almost no one had heard of, an interregnum in every state? Why are banks closed, the markets quiet, post-offices down?
Here’s why:
Juneteenth, a holiday pulled from thin air, is a day for race-baiters to race-bait—a day for them to bash America's "racist past," promote racial division, and, while spreading it, allow grandstanders to “care” about racism— which the holiday, by giving them a voice, encourages.
And that’s it. Now you know… Juneteenth is for racists. For America-bashing bores. A day that, without race-racketeers, the modern version, would be a footnote to a footnote to an irrelevant footnote, a holiday that simply would not exist.
